Senior Specialist Engineer - R&D, | Koç Kariyerim

We are looking for a passionate Senior Specialist Engineer – Polymers & Chemical Technologies who will join our team at R&D Center Directorate.

• Taking an active role in R&D projects focused on polyurethane insulation materials and technologies, particularly rigid polyurethane foam systems,
• Developing and optimizing polyurethane formulations to improve thermal insulation, mechanical performance, processability,
• Working actively both in the laboratory and office, as well as supporting pilot and production-scale trials when required,
• Planning and conducting laboratory studies related to polyurethane materials, formulation development, testing, and material characterization,
• Preparing test plans according to project schedules, analyzing test results, preparing technical reports, and defining corrective actions based on findings,
• Working closely with raw material and system suppliers, universities, research institutes, and technology partners for new material and technology development,
• Following and contributing to the development and implementation of relevant material characterization and testing standards,
• Conducting literature, patent, and benchmark studies.
• Supporting intellectual property activities by identifying potential patentable technologies and know-how generated through R&D studies
• Leading and participating in R&D projects aimed at developing new materials, technologies, and sustainable solutions,
• Presenting project results and technical findings to different stakeholders and preparing R&D reports, technical notes, and presentations in accordance with R&D procedures.

The position is located in İstanbul, Çayırova.

How do we describe the perfect match? 

• Bachelors Degree in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related disciplines (MSc is a plus)
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in polymers, chemicals, composites, insulation materials, or related fields
• Experience in polymer/material formulation development, optimization, and experimental design,
• Experience in material characterization and testing techniques, with the ability to analyze and interpret test results
• Having experience in material testing instruments,
• Experience in Design of Experiments (DoE), statistical data analysis, or engineering/scientific computational tools such as MATLAB, Minitab, Python, or similar software is a plus,
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to experimental work,
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Ability to follow scientific literature, patents, market trends, and emerging technologies,
• Curious and eager to explore new materials, technologies, and unconventional solutions,
• Open to innovation and comfortable working in a dynamic R&D environment,
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and international teams,
• A proactive, self-driven mindset with the ability to take ownership of technical challenges and R&D projects.
